Senate Bureau of Investigations
The Senate Bureau of Intelligence, or SBi, is an official covert investigative unit of the GalacticRepublic, tasked with providing the Galactic Senate with domestic and foreign intelligence, and for cases for, against, and about the Senate. It is the largest of the intelligence departments in the Republic, with recent changes leading to the entire intelligence community being folded within it. It is responsible to both the Senate's Intelligence Oversight Committee as well as to the Minister of Security and Intelligence. Corruption has been a known problem, but reforms and purges throughout the department recently has transformed it into a loyal and surprisingly efficient body. It consists of the Departments of Analysis, Cryptoanalysis, Internal Security, and Operations, as well as Crisis Branch, which is a special department formed in time of emergency to deal specificly with the issue being faced by the Republic.
