Just a few things to get us started...for the time being, we are on a limited opening. In that, RP is currently restricted to character development and background RP. I'll try to do a few myself to use as an example. Our official opening should occur sometime in the fall or winter, however the date hasn't been decided upon yet.

To get some quick info out, the RP is set in 2,500 BBY of the Star Wars canon timeline. So, you will see a lot of references mainly to the previous products in the timeline, such as The Old Republic MMORPG, Knights of the Old Republic multimedia series, Tales of the Jedi comic series, etc. Any canon after this point hasn't happened yet. No Luke Skywalker, no Vader, no Palpatine, no Rebel Alliance...none of that. If you need help in understanding the time period, feel free to ask management and/or snoop around on Wookiepedia. There are no canon characters allowed in the RP, there aren't even any alive at this time period. Some ambiguous canon characters, such as Revan or the Jedi Exile, will have certain histories that need to be filled out. Management will undertake this process, and post a total summary on such characters that may be relevant to the RP by the time the RP officially opens.

As a side note, many of you will notice several listed characters. Unless such a name has a dedicated profile, it is an NPC, essentially listed as a filler and for random NPC interaction, which will occur at the hand of management. If you wish to replace the NPC, please contact management. Eventually, control of these areas of the RP will be ceded into the hands of the user community, but to set up the plots, and ensure that certain direction and control is maintained... Management currently dictates these areas.

Concerning the Sith, both the Order and the Empire, many of you of course see pages for them, as well as forums. By all means, please play in this faction, but... due to the assumptive mass popularity of the Sith (based upon my personal experience) and for matters of plot and intrigue, the Sith are currently hidden from the galaxy, bidding their time, and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. They are currently made up of the remnants of the Sith Empire that existed 1,000 years ago in the canon, as well as disgruntled Republic troops that have heard of their existence and quietly sought them out. The Republic is, well, the Old Republic. It is however, in a time of growing nationalism, which doesn't sit well with some planets and regions, embodied by the League of Independent Worlds, and is becoming slightly heavy handed in its dealings. The current Supreme Chancellor is however extremely popular, and his Grand Republica movement. The Leth'aar are a species that is powerful and new to the galaxy, sitting on the end of Wild Space, and merely sitting quietly, updating their technologies and techniques. It is their culture and beliefs that are going to make things interesting, and while showing a friendly hand to the Republic, they may have other motives at hand.
